BIRTH ASSISTANT

Rachel Cowden

Rachel is a doula, with one of the most intuitive and kind presences that exist, and it is such a gift to see her show up - to do the quiet and joy filled work of supporting families in labor and beyond.

In the birth and postpartum space, Rachel is intentional and caring and the epitome of calm - she never disrupts or disturbs while she goes about her role of upholding the family with confident peace. It is such a joy to work alongside Rachel!

BIRTH ASSISTANT

Lydia Quantaince

As the eldest daughter in a single-mother household, nurturing came naturally to me. I was always fascinated by birth and motherhood. I also witnessed, from a child’s perspective, the chaos and overwhelm that can come with it. That experience fuels my work today. I want mothers to feel truly seen and empowered to love themselves. When a mother thrives, so does her baby. This work is deeply personal to me. I don’t see clients as just clients - they’re people. People with stories, needs, and unique journeys. I’m here to nurture, guide, and uplift parents through one of life’s most powerful transitions. It would be an honor to be invited into your story.

Lydia is a birth doula and a massage therapist, alongside being a birth assistant.

Lydia is a quiet and decisive decisive presence, and utterly helpful. She is intuitive and understands what to do without a word being said, although always finds the perfect way to ask for consent without disturbing. She is a joy to witness in the birthing space, and we are so thankful for her!

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Emma Johnson

I believe women are uniquely made in the image of God and hold incredible power in the bodies they are given and the innate gifts we hold. Soon after college I worked at Safehouse where I did prevention outreach for domestic violence and sexual assault. I believe it taught me how to be gentle, firm, yet sensitive to the impacts of assault on the female body, mind, and spirit.

Since then I married the love of my life and had our very first sweet baby girl in April of 2024, as a client of Hamilton’s, and life hasn’t slowed down since!

I believed in the work Hamilton is doing and felt the tender loving care of a midwife in my corner through the biggest (second biggest) day of my life. When the position came open to help serve other mothers in their journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, though behind the scenes - I didn’t hesitate to jump at it. Though I may not know what you look like or many details about your life, and though you may just know me as the girl who uploads your labs and schedules your appointments, I get giddy when I see your chart move to “in labor.” I weep when I see a mom go through loss, and I have literally squealed when I hear about someone who has been trying and receives a positive pregnancy test.

When I’m not working on admin tasks, you can find me going on walks, drinking way too many lattes, and praying no one sees my dance moves through our living room windows.
