The beautiful birth of Legend Little and his mother Leah

I’m Leah and this is my birth story.

After 9 long months approximate due date was June 2nd but surprisingly he arrived June 1st 2021 at 3:21pm with only 6 consecutive hours of labor!

I found myself eagerly excited to meet our son, and a miracle happened .. that morning at 7:29am I got up to use to restroom as usual but this time it was different, as I got back in bed I noticed a huge wet spot underneath my bottom… I laid an towel over it assuming that I may have urinated on myself, but was instructed by Hamilton to try putting on a pad and laying down for 30 min in the same position then get up and see if another gush comes out, to see if my water’s had released. So as time passed, let’s say about 15-20 minutes of laying there, I began to have very sharp pains in my abdomen and lower back.

Then, I contacted Hamilton ASAP. The pain occurring had gotten stronger, I hollered out to my fiancé and said “ QUE IM IN LABOR.”

Lol he jumped up in shock got me in the car grabbed our bag & baby’s car seat and were headed to the birth suites at approximately at 7:49am. I had been having false labor for a few days where contractions would wake me in the middle of the night, but then die off. I wasn’t convinced that anything was really happening. When we got their, Hamilton let us know our baby was still being turned side ways which led to me having to do different exercises off my knees and on my elbows to encourage him to move forward! Sounds tiring right for an 40 week pregnant woman, right?!

Continuing on .. during my labor I was provided electrolytes for energy and essential oils to reduce the pain, after hours of pushing I finally had gotten so tired I rose up in the birthing pool in a squatting position, I inhaled and exhaled to release an big push with the help of my midwife Hamilton & mother in-law encouraging me to push, take an deep breath and prepare to catch my baby Legend. Everything started to happen so fast! Once his head hit home it only took about 3 big pushes and there was baby Legend flying right on out i caught him in my dear hands and laid him on my chest skin to skin i fell i love all over again tears of joy came running down my face and a cry out to God thanking him for our blessing

Having my spouse beside me is bitter sweet and such a blessing because not everyone gets to experience that. I was so happy to have my loved ones in presence to witness a new life to be brought in this big world. #boymom
